September of this year (2013), Beijing officials beat a drum to show that they are fully against illegal wildlife trade. Illegal poaching and trading is a big issue in the China area so this was a big thing! When people see that "higher ranked" people are against issues like this, it makes them think that it's wrong too. It's just like seeing your favorite celebrity rocking a certain style, wouldn't that make you want to be fashionable like them? Maybe not...but hopefully you get what I'm trying to say. From the looks of things, it seems like more and more people are starting to recognize the issues at hand.
